The news of Donald Trump's election to the U.S. presidency has quite clearly shaken the world.
Naturally, therefore, the Twitter users of Singapore have all sorts of things to say about it — here's a selection of tweets that show maybe not all of us should say them out loud, online, though:
1. Those who think social media is the world:
I'm so confused because I see more tweets against Trump but the votes show otherwise???
— kelly ⚯͛ (@kellykhua_) November 9, 2016
2. Those who maybe shouldn't go there:
to y'all who stupidly voted for Trump pic.twitter.com/yIkmkJcHP7
— paris (@reesaille) November 9, 2016
3. Those throwing out wild suggestions:
SOMEONE KIDNAP TRUMP AND THROW HIM OFF THE PLANET PLEASE
— shubashini (@shubyy23) November 9, 2016
4. Those whose suggestions are even more disconcerting:
hope donald trump die out of a heart attack or smth since that man old as hell
— ? (@htmlfltx) November 9, 2016
There were others who went wayyyy further than this, and we're holding off telling you the details of what they tweeted.
5. Those who might not necessarily be sure of what they're saying:
Lol even KANYE would be a better option than Trump. Been an hour and a half or so & I'm still in disbelief and very worried. #RIPAmerica
— ash (@AshDHendrix) November 9, 2016
6. Those who maybe weren't reading the news over the past few months:
Relax guys. It's not the end of the world. And trump is not exactly a bad person.
— Alim Hussain (@_alimhussain) November 9, 2016
7. Those who think Americans equate Trump with God because they voted for him:
I guess it's "In Trump We Trust"...eh?
— merwyn (@hausofmermz) November 9, 2016
8. Those who are already predicting an impending World War:
the next generation of students are gonna write an essay ' explain how the trump presidency caused ww3 ' #ElectionNight
— Daryl Lim (@littlepiggy7) November 9, 2016
9. Those who are disconcerted because PM Lee congratulated him:
with singapore's PM siding trump, i think i should be scared too. "not my country" my ass. we will be affected. pic.twitter.com/a2QmBocL8z
— doda (@aesionity) November 9, 2016
10. And those who made a few intellectual long-jumps:
if trump can become president with no background in politics this means i can get into NUS with my 2.6 gpa right?
— shaz ? | D-54 (@shaziplier) November 9, 2016
Wow so trump now is the president and what males could grab any female genitals like they wish to?
— Celestial (@cccelestiaI) November 9, 2016
11. And this one who is worried about being in the US:
What does Trump being the president have an effect on us Singporeans? Well he called us thieves so i guess we need to be careful in USA. ?
— shier (@supshier) November 9, 2016
12. If only you could actually do that, dear:
I feel like building a wall in Donald trump's head ....
— shina (@shinaemilyt) November 9, 2016
If there is one tweet we might take seriously from all this, though, it would be this:
Time Magazine has usually put the winner of the US election as Person of the Year. I am not looking forward to Trump's face there.
— manic pixie あgender (@The_Fiz) November 9, 2016
Other things relating to this incredible election:
These animals correctly predicted Trump to win, did better than most pre-election pollsters
