Build a wall, Canada. The United States will pay for it.

The official "Citizenship and Immigration Canada" website has crashed.

This after the US election results on Tuesday night showed Republican candidate Donald Trump in the lead.

The immigration site went down around 10.30pm ET (11.30pm Singapore time) Tuesday, followed by intermittent accessibility.

This was most likely due to the sheer number of people thinking about leaving the United States.

Around 9pm ET Tuesday evening, it was announced that a number of key states in the election including Michigan, Ohio, Virgina and Florida could all swing in Trump’s favor.

This is how the site looks like normally:

Markets around the world are also taking a beating.
