Stunning aerial shots of Singapore reveal you didn't recognise this country at all

Can you guess these places?

We're probably used to seeing the same few images that have been used to represent Singapore -- Gardens by the Bay, the Merlion and Marina Bay Sands with all the twinkling lights that line the Marina Bay area.

But look down from above and you'll discover another side of Singapore that might look a little unfamiliar -- but equally stunning, no less.

Twitter user and photographer Lee Yik Keat's (@leeyikkeat) photo series "Singapore from above" is so spectacular, we almost can't believe that these shots are OF Singapore.

Here are his most recent images:

Both of his Twitter posts have generated more than 15,000 retweets and 7,000 likes.

Using a drone to take aerial shots is a growing trend among photographers in Singapore and has even been acknowledged by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong himself.

PM Lee featured photographer Joel Chia's (@Idroneman on Instagram) pictures on his Facebook page earlier this year, commenting that Chia's aerial shots "shows us Singapore from a different perspective that many of us rarely consider. Happy to see that we have such creative talent."

It makes us happy to see such stunning photographs as well.
