Two of the six potential Prime Ministers have been promoted as full Ministers -- Ong Ye Kung and Ng Chee Meng.
Both Ong and Ng entered politics last year and were appointed Acting Education Ministers.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, "these promotions are part of leadership renewal and will take effect on Nov 1, 2016".
In a few days' time, Ong will be Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and concurrently 2nd Minister in the Ministry of Defence, while Ng will be Minister for Education (Schools) and concurrently 2nd Minister in the Ministry of Transport.
In other words, both Ong and Ng are the first two MPs from the 2015 batch to be promoted as full Ministers.
This also means all six potential PM candidates -- Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat; National Development Minister Lawrence Wong; Minister in the PMO Chan Chun Sing; Social and Family Development Minister Tan Chuan-Jin, Ong Ye Kung, and Ng Chee Meng -- are now full Ministers.
