Metallica, an era-defining band that has caused a lot of strained necks due to its music inducing headbanging, have made a surprising announcement: They are going to play in Seoul, South Korea, on Jan. 11, 2017.
The announcement was made on Oct. 17:

The band said the the Seoul stop will be the "first of six shows in that corner of the world", a point not lost on fans as it confirms that the band will play other shows in the region before taking off again under their WorldWired Tour.
This new tour is to support the band's 10th record, Hardwired... to Self-Destruct, which the band is currently preparing for release in November.
Metallica last performed in Singapore in 2013. Some 40,000 metalheads showed up.
That year, they took their show to Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai and Osaka.
It remains to be seen where in Asia they will end up next in 2017.
