Airport officer says he's not looking to date, dating app promptly uses him to promote product

So fast.

There is a trend recently of companies piggybacking on the success or popularity of some local talent.

This phenomenon was perhaps most stark when Joseph Schooling secured our first Olympic gold.

Multiple brands used his image, without permission, to "praise" the returning Olympian.

And in some ways, that was a good indicator as to what constitutes "making it".

Lee Minwei

The handsome officer that sent Singapore into a collective swoon, was recently featured on Changi's Facebook.

Now some might consider that rather opportunistic in itself, but we will give it a pass because he literally works there.

So, no harm no foul right?

Nope.

Here is the post of a dating app though:

So we heard about Changi Airport's very own Lee Minwei. Ladies, won't you wish to see this on your phone and swipe right on him?

That's great Paktor, and it was so nice of CISCO to allow their uniform to be used for a different company's ad!

And great news, 100 shares and Minwei will definitely be on Paktor, even though in the Changi profile piece, he explicitly stated that he wasn't looking for a relationship.

"I am single, but not actively looking for a relationship right now because I want to focus on my career. I believe things will happen naturally if it's meant to be, and if the right girl comes along."

Wow, that's like the exact opposite function of a dating app.

To be fair to Paktor, they never once promised to get him on the app.

Don't see anything wrong with it? Well, here's basically what they did.
