15-year-old pawn shop cat Lao Mao nowhere to go after shop sold, another shop down the lane took it in

A community cat, that has been residing for the longest time outside a pawn shop in one of the mature estates in Singapore, looked set to be left without a place to stay.

This was after the pawn shop was sold off to a chain and the owner returned to Malaysia.

However, owing to the persistence of a husband-and-wife cat care-giver team, the ageing cat, Lao Mao, managed to be relocated after a few weeks. Another shop just down the lane allowed the cat to stay just outside its premises -- an area the cat was already familiar with and missed.

Previously, the 15-year-old cat is not only given fresh food and water daily, it even has its own cardboard bed and stuffed toys given by residents.
