Do you want to be the President of Singapore when you grow up?
Before you start looking at the proposed job application form that is recommended by the Constitution Commission, you must:
i) be a Singapore citizen who is at least 45 years old;
ii) be in the current register of electors and be resident in Singapore on the date of nomination and have been resident in Singapore for at least 10 years prior to that;
iii) not be subject to certain disqualifications stipulated in Article 45(1) of the Constitution.
iv) not be a member of any political party on the date of nomination.
v) satisfy the PEC that you are a person of “integrity, good character and reputation”.
These are of course only the basic criteria mentioned in Article 19(2) of the Constitution.

If you are really, really interested, and want to be the custodian of Singapore's reserves, you must also fulfil one of the following criteria:
1) Public-sector leader: You have held one of the key public sector offices for at least six years in the past 15 years -- Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker of Parliament, Attorney- General, Permanent Secretary, leader of a Fifth Schedule statutory board (CPF, HDB, JTC, MAS).

2) Private-sector leader: You are one of the 691 most senior man/woman of a company with $500 million share-holders' equity and you held the appointment for six years in the past 15 years. The company must have a record of net profitability during the entire period that you led the company, and the company must not have gone into liquidation or entered into any other type of insolvency process within three years of you ceasing leading it, or by Nomination Day for the Presidential election in question, whichever is the earlier.

3) Deliberative track (subject to the decision by the PEC): You have held a comparable office and hence possess the requisite experience and expertise to be President. Examples may include other senior-level executives who are not CEOs of companies with $500 million share-holders' equity.
Millennials, Tan Cheng Bock, Tan Jee Say, current PAP and Opposition politicians (unless they quit their party) need not apply.
