What's not to like about deals that do good and make you feel good about yourself?
Combining the average Singaporean's hunger for awesome deals, we have rounded up some pretty cool deals that not only save you some money, but also let you do some good.
1. uberPOOL x President's Challenge
Travelling around Singapore is hard. Especially when you don't know if you're going to face 3 MRT disruptions in a day.
Sharing your ride with someone heading in the same direction gets you to your destination sans disruption and saves you money.
This deal is especially sweet -- for every uberPOOL ride taken on National Day (9th August 2016), Uber will donate $1 to the President's Challenge which benefits a range of charities from the elderly to rehabilitation causes.
Do some good: Enter the promo code POOLFORSG under the Promotions tab before you register for an uberPOOL ride today (Aug 9). Take a moment to bask in the knowledge that you made the President's Challenge $1 richer.
2. Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King x Peranakan Museum
Celebrating National Day outdoors can be quite a tedious affair.
Take a break by heading down to Tonkotsu King @ Tanjong Pagar where diners will receive $15 vouchers when they dine today (August 9).
Tonkotsu King will also donate all proceeds from the sales on August 8 and 9 to the Peranakan Museum.
Do some good: Visit Tonkotsu King (Tanjong Pagar) on 8th and 9th August 2016 from 11.30am to 3pm and from 6pm to 10.30pm for some feel-good ramen action.
3. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA)
This National Day week, take a break from hunting Pokemon and get some real animals instead.
SPCA will be featuring 51 homegrown local breeds on their Facebook page from August 9 - 14.
If an animal catches your eye, you can proceed to the SPCA website for more details or head down to the SPCA .
Do read up beforehand on how to care for a pet and if your home is a suitable place for whichever breed you choose. As part of the National Day celebrations, SPCA will also be providing adoption starter kits comprising of pet bedding and food samples to help you start your adoption journey.
Do some good: Visit the SPCA Facebook page to take a look at their featured local animals from 9th to 14th August 2016. Maybe you might find your true Pokémon.
4. Starhub x Daughters of Tomorrow
Starhub customers get to enjoy various deals this National Day season.
Up till August 11, Starhub TV customers will be able to view more than 100 channels free of charge. Starhub postpaid mobile customers will also enjoy an extra gigabyte of data free throughout the month of August.
In return, customers can choose to redeem 51 Starhub Rewards Points for a $5 donation to a charitable cause endorsed by Daughters of Tomorrow -- a local charity which helps underprivileged mothers care for their children.
Do some good: Redeem your Starhub points to help needy mothers and children. Definitely better than spending them on that hotel stay that you don't need.
5. Yellow Ribbon Project Singapore
Not strictly a National Day promotion, but we love how you can win a pair of Yellow Ribbon Prison Run tickets worth $90 from the Running Man Challenge.
Proceeds from the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run goes to the Yellow Ribbon Project which supports rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders. The contest ends August 14.
Do some good: Dress yourself in yellow and film yourself dancing. Upload the video to Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #YRSecondChance. Time to get off your feet and start grooving.
