Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is currently delivering his 13th National Day Rally (NDR) address at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College Central.
Besides giving a sneak preview of what he’ll speak about last Friday, he revealed part of the menu for his NDR guests during his Mandarin speech.
PM Lee noted that each race and religion has different food preferences in Singapore, so he tried to accommodate each group’s requirements, without imposing on someone else in the NDR reception.
That was what he said:
"For my Muslim friends, we have Soto Babat"
"For Indians, Chapati"
"For Chinese, Kong Bak Bao"
"For Eurasians, Baked Salmon with Curry"
"We also have vegetarian and international cuisine."
"There are soft drinks and beer."
PM Lee concluded his menu presentation with one advice - "please don’t drink and drive!"
