A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is the photo again:
The photo, featuring more than 15 trolleys, were parked neatly at a disabled carparking lot.
Tan, a former national footballer who took the photo, said that the trolleys were kept at the private condominium basement carpark.
Where is Silversea?
Silversea condominium is a "luxurious tower with spectacular south China Sea view" located at 52 Marine Parade Road.
And it is likely that these trolleys came from Parkway Parade Shopping Centre or the NTUC FairPrice at Marine Parade Central.
MP: "Terrible and inconsiderate acts"
A netizen shared the post with Seah Kian Peng, the MP from Marine Parade GRC, who replied:
"Indeed, these are terrible and inconsiderate acts of residents/ shoppers which not only inconvenience and deprive other shoppers of use of trolleys but also trouble our staff who needs to make arrangements to go and collect these trolleys. I hope the shoppers themselves and the people staying at Silversea take ownership and accountability and that such acts do not continue going forward."
American psychologist Dacher Keltner in a new book, The Power Paradox, noted that powerful people believe it’s fine for them to break rules others should follow.
Remember Maplewoods in 2011?
Maplewoods 2011 was an incident when a group of condominium owners from Maplewoods shouted down at two public servants because of the disruption caused from the building of the train line near their homes.
Now we have Silversea disabled carpark-trolley thieves to add to the list.
