A football game between an isolated island nation whose banking industry is in big trouble and Iceland ended 2-1 on Monday, resulting in England exiting Europe twice in four days.

As usual, the Icelandic commentator went completely ballistic as the final whistle of the match was blown:

This was what the commentator said in Icelandic:

This is done! This is done! We are never going home! Did you see that?! Did you see that?! Amazing! I can't believe it! This is a dream. Never wake me from this amazing dream!

Live the way you want, England. Iceland is going to play France on Sunday. France Iceland! You can go home! You can go out of Europe! You can go wherever the hell you want! England 1 Iceland 2 is the closing score here in Nice! And the fairytale continues!

Iceland's victory in the second round of the Euro 2016 tournament sees them progress to a quarter-final match against host nation France.

This is Iceland's first appearance in any major tournament.

The Icelandic fans and their football team then proceeded to summon the spirit of their viking past in their chilling post-match celebration:

Amazingly, the crowd in Reykjavik, Iceland's capital, also joined in the celebration the same way. [Periscope link]

Even more amazing, is this fact: The population of Iceland is about 332,000.

And Iceland team's manager is a part-time dentist.

This has led to speculation about how Iceland chose their national team:

For the record, Bedok town in Singapore has a population of 289,750, while Jurong has 357,840.

This means we could fit the people from entire country of Iceland into either estate.

Iceland's players include a part-time filmmaker and itinerant farmers.

Hail Iceland. Long live Iceland.
