About 200 people turned up at Haw Par Villa on Saturday, May 14, to take part in the first-ever large-scale escape game held outdoors.
The escape game, titled Journey To The End And Back, is about a school excursion that goes wrong. The teams have to use clues to solve puzzles to save a friend who has fainted.
The game takes participants through parts of the 3.2ha park, as the game zone covers about a third of the park's area, including the Ten Courts Of Hell and the Hua Song Pavilions.
The rain, evidently, was not a deterrent, as participants carried on with their games at the 79-year-old theme park in Pasir Panjang:
Journeys, the park's new operator, partnered with escape game operator Lockdown Singapore to host the games to attract a younger audience to the theme park that has over the years, saw a drastic decline in interest.
Each session of the game lasts one hour. There were four sessions in total. Each game comprises up to 10 teams of six people.
A second round of games will be held this Saturday, May 21, but 90 per cent of tickets have already been sold due to its popularity.
And this is despite two additional time slots at 11.45am and 8.45pm being added.
Lights were installed in parts of the park for the games to carry on until 10pm.
Do note that regular park visitors are allowed into the game zone when a game is in session.
