Earlier Friday, we wrote about a baker who was humiliated at what she would only name as a "well known Halal bakery", when she interviewed there on Monday to be a cake decorator.

This bakery has now outed itself — it's none other than Prima Deli.

Here is its statement:

Following some immediate backlash that ensued, it posted another clarification saying it has dismissed the employee:

Here's what the person allegedly said to Sarah that got him fired:

“From what I see, and the way you look, and not trying to be racist ah, but you Malay, I think you cannot la”

and

“You know ah, Malays ah they over promise, promise I can do this I can do that, in the end, cannot make it, after 2 days disappear.”

Here's how the Internet responded to Prima Deli's statement, prior to learning the clarification that the employee was fired:

In case you don't know what this is about:

Dear “well-known Halal bakery”, you’ve just lost a talented cake decorator due to your discrimination
