The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) has come out to clarify that there is nothing wrong with your prawns even if they are found to have white spots on them:
This was after the AVA had initially advised a consumer to discard the prawns she bought after she found white spots underneath them.
The AVA said the precautionary measure it had advised her to take by discarding the prawns was "premature", and apologised via hashtags, #WeApologise #Sorry!, which is supposedly a cool and funky way to go about things these days on social media.
However, following AVA's initial advice to discard of prawns, some members of the public inevitably tossed out some good seafood and responded to AVA on their post:
