Although they might have faded out of the spotlight and into oblivion, there are some Singapore celebrities we’ll never forget.

Sharon Au

Mystery: Mark Lee once famously said that prior to Sharon Au going MIA, he had never been able to bag the “Most Popular Host”.

Her decision to further her studies in Japan shook the industry as it lost one of its most renowned and popular hosts. She stopped appearing in bak kua commercials and, for a while, was off the radar.

Solved: Sharon has finally emerged back in the scene as chief manager of the website styleXstyle. It appears that Japan has mellowed her colourful personality and that the fashion industry is her new passion.

Xie Shao Guang

Mystery: Popular and with a multitude of shows under his belt, Xie Shao Guang (above right) was one of the most talented and versatile folks in MediaCorp.

The last time he was in a major TV show was in “Holland V”, where he played Chen Liping’s love interest. After that, he dropped out of radar and stopped acting altogether.

Solved: As it turns out, he is now a monk after living in Malaysia for the past eight years. He was ordained in a ceremony and is now known to his peers as Shao Guang Shi Xiong.

Wong Li Lin

Mystery: Wong Li Lin was considered one of the hottest personalities in MediaCorp back then. There were so many newspapers and magazines that constantly dubbed her as the “sexiest woman” in Singapore.

She kind of disappeared after her widely-publicised marriage to Allan Wu.

Solved: She had followed Allan Wu to Shanghai, and had chosen to neglect her own career for his. They divorced last June. She is now back in Singapore with her kids and with a new passion for fitness. Check out her Instagram for her fab bod.

Fiona Xie

Mystery: Fiona Xie always had her fair share of controversy. Perhaps due to her eccentric personality, she had always been great tabloid fodder back in the day. But all that slowly ebbed away in recent years, along with her presence in the scene.

Solved: It seems that our favourite genie is busy jet-setting and has embraced her inner hipster. Need proof? Check out her Instagram account.

Mystery: She was in a string of Channel 8 dramas and was always the lead. This was a woman who owned every role she took up. Then, she disappeared out of the limelight.

Solved: She is now a proud mummy and spends most of her time spoiling her kids with gifts and excursions (as seen on her blog). It is clear that she has shifted the focus of her life to her little bundles of joy and it seems that she won’t be changing that decision anytime soon.
