In a bid to capitalise on Pink Dot's growing momentum this year and to further push his own agenda, Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong of Faith Community Baptist Church has put out a statement in response to the event on June 28, 2014.

In a statement he issued yesterday, which was later published on his Facebook page, Khong said government leaders need to draw a clear line on where they now stand with regards to, what he calls, "a moral issue".

He wrote:

"I find it totally confounding that Pink Dot is allowed to promote their agenda. I find it even more disconcerting that the event is being used as a platform of public persuasion to push their alternative lifestyle."

“This is no good for Singapore. Why then is our Government giving Pink Dot public space to push its agenda and grow its movement?”

He also added that he felt sad at the thought of Singapore’s moral decline, saying:

"Pink Dot’s agenda goes against our national interests."

This year's Pink Dot is expected to top last year's attendance of approximately 21,000 people.

In 2012, about 15,000 attended the event that is being held at Hong Lim Park for the sixth consecutive year.
