If you had been following The X Factor Australia Season 8, you’d most likely have heard of Natalie Ong, one of the finalists of the music reality show.

The 16-year-old Singapore-born girl blew everyone away with her goosebump-raising audition clip, where she belted out Christina Aguilera’s The Voice Within.

The talented songstress did it again at the “Three Seat Challenge” with her rendition of I'd Rather Go Blind by Etta James. In fact, she sang it so exceptionally well that Adam Lambert and Guy Sebastian, two of the judges, threw their shoes at her as a (rather unusual) way of showing approval.

More about the budding singer

As one of the youngest contestants of The X Factor Australia 2016, Natalie Ong is a songbird based in Melbourne. The then 15-year-old was a student at Waverley Christian College in Victoria.

To provide support to Natalie at her audition, her grandmother specially flew from Singapore to Australia to attend, and even went onto the stage at the end to announce how proud she was of her grandchild.

So now that you’ve heard Natalie’s debut single, Get Gold, in our Facebook post (and probably loved it as much as we did), you’re probably also wondering how on earth she hit that crazy high note in the song.

Here’s the video again for recap:

Well, wonder no more as you can watch her sing that crazy high note live at SHINE Festival. The song, which was produced together with Josh Wei, is an uplifting piece about pursuing one’s dreams, and never giving up -- just like Natalie did after The X Factor Australia.

You go, girl.

And maybe listening to her live will somehow trigger the inner fire in you to embark on your dreams.

SHINE Festival is an annual celebration of youths’ aspirations, talents, and contributions, presented by the National Youth Council. Besides coming together to watch concerts for free and make merry, the gathering also marks the start of Youth Month (which runs throughout July) and even features a talent development programme for budding music, media, gaming, inventing, and dance enthusiasts who want to take their passion/skills to the next level.

Happening from June 30 to July 2, the event will stretch along Orchard Road, from ION Orchard to *SCAPE. Other than Natalie, K-pop star Jessica Jung, and local artistes like The Sam Willows, ShiGGa Shay, and Gentle Bones will also be performing at the festival.

Best part -- it’s free and open to all.
