Child-carrying man calmly jaywalks across Boon Lay road, gets angry at driver in oncoming vehicle

Can you smell the stench of sheer entitlement?

Jaywalking, as we all know, is an offence. It endangers the jaywalker, anyone he's jaywalking with, and any drivers in the vicinity.

And obviously, although evidently not so for some, carrying a child while jaywalking does not justify you in your offence in any way.

In a dashcam video posted by a Facebook user on Monday (May 8), a man is seen casually crossing the road at Boon Lay Place.

He does so while facing the direction of oncoming traffic, and carrying a child. The vehicle with the camera that recorded the video was merely a few metres away when the man began crossing. It stopped just in time:

But that wasn't the end of it.

While no sound was recorded in the video, most drivers who encounter similar situations would likely have sounded their horn.

And in such situations, most jaywalkers would dart quickly to safety.

But no — this doesn't happen here.

Instead of quickly clearing the road in shame, the child-carrying man has the audacity to stop in the middle of the road and confront the driver.

What basis or moral standing he has in this scenario that entitles him to act this way continues to elude us.

The angry confrontation only ends when the man's female companion intervenes to get him to move along:

Everything takes place in the short span of a few seconds, but the strong stench of entitlement lingers for hours. Possibly days.
