2 K-pop fans use boarding passes like Simon Dominic concert tickets, got arrested at Changi Airport

Two hardcore K-pop fans were arrested by the police for misusing their boarding passes at Changi Airport on on Apr. 30.

According to the police, the female students, aged 19 and 16 had bought air tickets, obtained their boarding passes, and entered the airport's transit area, in order to meet their K-pop hip hop idol.

The students had no intention to depart Singapore using the air tickets they had bought, which resulted in their arrest.

TODAY mentioned that the K-pop artiste is Simon Dominic, who was in town and performed at Suntec City on May 1.

Reminding the public that the transit areas of Changi Airport are gazetted as Protected Places, the police said that passengers who enter the areas with a boarding pass should only be there for the purpose of travelling to their next destinations.

Those found guilty of misusing their board passes to enter the transit areas may be prosecuted in Court and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of $1,000 or to imprisonment for a term of 2 years or to both.
