The police announced early this morning that they have identified and arrested the couple who allegedly bullied and used foul language on an old man in a confrontation that took place on Friday night in a Toa Payoh Lorong 8 hawker centre.

The woman, police said in a statement shared with the media, is 39 years old, while the man who allegedly pushed the uncle is 46. Neither were named in the statement, although it confirmed their identities were established by officers from the Tanglin Police Division, and they were arrested on Tuesday.

Additionally, Lianhe Wanbao reported that the duo are husband and wife, and the wife works in private education while the identity of the husband is unknown at the moment.

The irony of the woman's occupation did not escape netizens:

It is currently unknown whether "private education" refers to private schools or a tuition agency.

If the couple, who were arrested for causing public nuisance, are found guilty of the offence, they are liable to a fine of up to $1,000.
