UOB said couple in Toa Payoh hawker centre video not its staff

Wrong identification.

United Overseas Bank (UOB) has responded in a new statement on Sunday night, April 23, 2017, at 11pm that the couple in the video seen bullying an elderly man is not their staff.

UOB wrote:

Our investigations show that the couple shown in the video is not our UOB Toa Payoh branch staff. While we agree with many of you that the behavior captured is shameful and deplorable, nevertheless we need to be fair to the innocent and therefore respectfully request that any unsubstantiated allegations not be posted.

UOB was dragged into this kerfuffle after attempts were made on Facebook to identify the couple in the video:

UOB responded earlier on Sunday, after it was bombarded with complaints from the public who assumed the couple were employees of the bank:

This prompted the bank to investigate the claims.
