Neighbourhood improvement ideas from S’poreans that only make some sense but HDB does it anyway

WITS project FTW

We are looking for more adjectives: A stylish covered walkway, a dynamic (errr..) park connector and an all-purpose waterfront

Because why stop at just a covered walkway, park connector and a waterfront? Also because arrow.

Here are some innovative requests that we imagine Singaporeans suggest to HDB on a daily basis.

1. The wannabe farmers

When HDB goes, “Say no more fam”:

A herb garden found at the top of Bukit Batok West Shopping Centre in the Jurong Lake estate. Beat that easties.

Managed by a retired plantation worker who is placing his accumulated years of experience to good use, the herb garden features more than 30 varieties of plants with a focus on their use in Chinese traditional medicine.

2. The nostalgic movie buff

When HDB goes, “Say no more fam”:

Not quite movies in the park but still got movie. With the new Punggol Town Square, you can get all the best parts of the park without all the downsides. Even if it rains, the movie still can go on plus no need sit on the wet floor.

3. The things-can-always-be-better guy

When HDB goes, “Say no more fam”:

By the time this place is completed, Pokemon might be so 2016. But at least you’d be able to stroll to Woodlands Waterfront to reminisce about the time you snagged that elusive Lapras amidst scenic views of Woodlands.

4. The hardcore runner who just picked up running two months ago

When HDB goes, “Say no more fam”:

Yes, Pasir Ris Park, always the ugly sister in the eyes of stellar East Coast. In the future, residents can look forward to make this small part of their neighbourhood great again. Now with improved beach, because east side, best side.

5. The aesthetic-is-everything person

When HDB goes, “Say no more fam”:

It’s as though HDB went “We know exactly what you need”. The space under the Woodlands MRT will be spruced up with even more lush vegetation to make all those folks headed to parts of the North green with envy.

6. The advertising brand wannabe dude

When HDB goes, “Say no more fam”:

Truth be told, HDB would like to create another epic icon on the same level as the Dragon Playground. Because so marketable. Residents young and old can provide new suggestions for NEW signature playgrounds in Toa Payoh. Time for you to speak up and be counted.

The best part of all, these improvements for Woodlands, Pasir Ris and Toa Payoh is that they have all been earmarked for the next Remaking Our Heartland initiative. And, HDB would like to invite you down to the various exhibitions so you can have your say on how to make your residence even more appealing. We kid you not.
