On April 3 evening, Yahoo! News Singapore reported that a 21-year-old man was injured after being attacked by dangerous weapons on Sunday, April 2 at Block 145 Yishun Street 11.
The victim was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and investigations are ongoing.
On April 2, a video showing an injured man on a stretcher with open, gaping wounds started trending on Twitter in Singapore leading to speculation that this could have happened locally.
Uploaded by user Sykrnhmz on the evening of April 2, which coincided with the Yishun incident on the same day, the following video embedded is extremely graphic and gory, so viewer discretion is advised.

It is uncertain if Sykrnhmz took the video or if it was already circulating beforehand.
However, the context of the attack could allegedly be gleaned from a video with screenshots of WhatsApp chats, which may also have been circulating around beforehand, as another Twitter user Shazzyaziq responded.
According to the chats, the injured man may have allegedly incited physical conflict through verbal insults.
Roughly translated, it seems like the man in question was offending another party's mother and insulting religion.
However, it is not confirmed this is the same man injured in Yishun and comments about the video with the injured man suggests it had taken place in Malaysia instead.
It was also suggested the video could have been taken some time back and only uploaded recently.
