Hey, have you ever wanted to become an Instagram influencer so bad that it hurts?

Do you wake up in a cold sweat at night, shivering from the lack of followers on your various social media platforms?

Well, this video might change your life.

Here is the video:

WOW! Just wow.

Breakdown

Let's break this video down just in case you couldn't make it through the whole three-and-a-half minutes.

First, two lady friends are having a conversation about their favourite Instagram personality.

The girl in white, Hilda, is having some serious confidence issues due to a lack of followers.

No fear, Hilda, because your friend, blue haired lady, has the exact remedy for your conundrum.

It's Faves Asia!

It is a (insert buzzwords here) platform for (insert target demographic) to easily achieve (insert wildly unfeasible dream).

Wow! No way!

And unlike other vague advertisements, Faves Asia gave a chronological tutorial into what you can expect after using the platform.

Two months later

After two months, you can afford food.

Do nails.

Or just dance at a beach.

Wow, no way!

Six months later

Somehow over the course of six months, she seems to have found a chauffeur, or a boyfriend? Who drives her around in a Maserati?

This is the exact dialogue that takes place in this scene. We are not fabricating anything,

*Maserati comes to a stop*

*Man sees 4 people outside car*

Man: Wha, Hilda, so many fans already ah?

Hilda: *Bashfully, perhaps unsure if that was sarcasm* Yeah I didn't expect Faves Asia to give me so much exposure!

Hilda proceeds to get out of car.

Man: Hey, remember to smile ok?

Hilda: Ok.

Now, there's a lot to unpack here. But just on the surface level, here are two observations.

1. Six months on Faves Asia will get you a Maserati, or get you someone who has a Maserati.

2. It might result in you forgetting how to smile.

The ending is basically her meeting another famous influencer, possibly the one she was obsessed with earlier in the video.

Whoa, narrative structure, A+.

These are the haters and losers who are jealous of Hilda's path to stardom

Even fellow influencers, such as Nellie Lim, felt this was a poor representation of what their industry is.

Faves Asia might not have gotten the response they were hoping for, but whatever you might be facing, Faves Asia, and Hilda, remember to smile.
