Several sprinklings of baking flour were found on the floor of Woodleigh MRT station on Tuesday afternoon, triggering a flurry of activity that included station closure and a HAZMAT team investigation.

News of this first broke after about 1:30pm, when the Singapore police issued its first statement indicating the closure of Woodleigh station:

A notification from North East Line operator SBS Transit sent through its app also informed commuters of the temporary closure at the station:

At 1:57pm, the SPF said in an update that "a suspicious substance" was found, with a second longer (but still brief) post advising members of the public not to speculate what it might be:

And roughly two-plus hours later, police and the SCDF HAZMAT team confirmed that the substance turned out to be baking flour:

'>According to a report in Channel NewsAsia, it was a cleaner who first spotted the powder on the ground, at three or four spots in the concourse area. The authorities were later alerted, and the police and SCDF arrived to investigate it.

The end — well done everyone.
