Context is important.

On March 23, Straits Times shook the YouTube scene in Singapore by uploading a 20 second video of commuters taking a train.

Here is the video.

" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" style="position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0" allowfullscreen>

Here is the accompanying caption.

Yup, basically nothing.

The video however went viral, reaching number 2 on trending in Singapore.

Here are the views for that particular video.

Take note of the rather skewed like bar.

The comments were peppered with very confused people.

Many who didn't understand what the video was meant to represent.

Some who really liked it.

And one that understood who to blame immediately.

Context?

Now, the most possible reason for this video was for the very tragic news that a man had died at Fajar LRT station.

Here is The Straits Times article on the incident.

And here is the video embedded there.

Context!

Now, once again, this was all the context given in the Straits Times YouTube video.

Which is as good as no context.

Some of their viewers gave some rather helpful advice regarding context.

And technology.

But, perhaps all this kerfuffle was worth it, just so we could witness this hilarious conversation in the comment section.

Interesting!
