Malaysian Reddit does the unthinkable, claims Malaysian food is better than S'pore food

This is the start.

Singapore and Malaysia for the most part have a rather amiable relationship.

Sure, we may fight over islands once in a while, or charge each other unnecessary tolls, but at the end of the day, we are as close as 2 friends, who were once the same country but decided to consciously decouple, could possibly hope to be.

That is, until Reddit Malaysia decided to serve an utterly unprovoked volley of hate.

Here is what the post, which was written by a Malaysian residing in Singapore, says.

I've been living in Singapore for a while. You would think that our cultures being so similar that the food would be just as great. BUT ITS NOT. Singaporean food is like an utter downgrade of Malaysian food. It's really blasphemous.

And if the posts are anything to go by, everyone kind of agrees.

Malaysians agree

To no one's surprise, Malaysians were overwhelmingly on the "Malaysia food is better" bandwagon.

However, our friends across the causeway weren't the only ones that were effusive in their praise for their cooking.

North Americans were on Malaysia's side too.

The worst victims of their vicious attack was our Bak Kut Teh soup.

Savage.

Another group also heartily endorsed this claim... Singaporeans.

And Malaysians responded with some self deprecating humour as well.

In fact, even those who tried to stand up for Singapore, had to do it in a roundabout way.

For example, sure, your food is better, but dangerous siol.

A point that both Malaysians, and Singaporeans who live in Malaysia called them out for.

Even if the danger part were true, that could only mean one thing.

At the end of the day, we retreated to what we know best.
