For the uninitiated, N.E mation is basically an inter-school digital animation competition, where students from secondary schools, JCs and centralised institutes "express their thoughts" on Total Defence.

A total of 10 finalist teams have emerged, one of them being a team of four from Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School known as [Blank Space].

Their piece, Our Five Fingers of Defence, is described as:

"... a charming finger puppet performance shows us the importance of each finger to the hand, just like how we need all five pillars of Total Defence to keep Singapore strong."

If you are already thinking how they may be portraying the middle finger, well, we can say that it was smartly executed.

Five defences, five digits.

The little finger - it strengthens the grip of the hand and also supports the fist.

Just like how a strong economy supports our growth and progress.

The ring finger symbolizes love and unity.

That's what we need; showing care and trust among us, getting along with one another!

The middle finger - it's easily the strongest finger of all!

We keep our military strong to defend ourselves.

The index finger stands for '1', and symbolises power.

As civilians, we have the power to help in emergencies by being first-responders.

Our thumb - it's what enables the other fingers to do so many things!

Like so, our resolve is what enables us to make a difference!

We all have a hand in our Total Defence!
