According to Hong Kong's Apple Daily, Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau, 55, was injured while filming a commercial in Thailand on Monday.

It was reported that according to a producer, Long Ge, who has knowledge of the incident, Lau was riding a horse when the horse went into a frenzy. He was thrown from the horse and it stepped on his back. Lau apparently suffered a fracture to his spine and his injury was said to be quite serious.

Lau was sent immediately sent to a hospital in Thailand and was subsequently transported back to Hong Kong in a specially chartered plane.

Apple Daily said it tried to reach out to Lau but has yet to receive a response.
