Standby your tissues.

The Thais have a real knack for making incredibly evocative advertisements.

This latest advertisement will hit home with anyone who has lost someone, struggled against the odds, or had to pick themselves up from a darker place:

It starts off with our protagonist, saddest face lady (who we’ll henceforth refer to as SFL), thanking a client for the opportunity to work for him. He then asks SFL how do opportunities come by:

Is it from:

thai-life-opportunity-1

Or:

thai-life-opportunity-2

Perhaps SFL possesses these traits:

thai-life-opportunity-3

thai-life-opportunity-4

thai-life-opportunity-5

The ad flips things around and suggests opportunities can arise from harsher realities:

nzah-r

That life doesn’t roll out a red carpet for you or SFL:

thai-life-opportunity-6

thai-life-opportunity-7

thai-life-opportunity-8

Or are opportunities what we make of them?

thai-life-opportunity-9

The ad goes on to show SFL gritting her teeth and making a career out of being an insurance agent. Tragedy strikes as one of her client’s daughter requires surgery, but it seems surgery cannot commence until payment is made:

The ad’s worth your five minutes to watch. We won’t spoil the ending for you.
