The former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station in its current form will be closed for good after Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2016.

It will hold its last open house on Christmas before construction of the Cantonment MRT station on the Circle Line commences, which is scheduled to be completed in 2025.

The national monument has been opened every public holiday since February 2015.

The Singapore Land Authority said in a press release the Christmas Day event will have an all-day market, featuring Christmas treats and food and beverage items.

Visitors are encouraged to take public transport as parking is limited. Admission is free.

A cappella group NUS Resonance will be performing Christmas carols from 5pm, and the Richard Jackson jazz quartet will be performing from 7pm.

The public can also donate their new and used toys and books in good condition to beneficiaries supported by the Community Chest.

The station will be open from 9am to 9pm.
