A fire broke out at 313@Somerset earlier this evening (Dec 15). A witness told The Straits Times that she smelled smoke in the building at around 10.30pm.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was called in and the fire was put out by 11.25pm. At least six fire engines were parked along Orchard Road.

Channel NewsAsia reported that SCDF medics also took one woman to hospital after she tripped and fell.

Instagram user arifin_iskandar_ipin uploaded a video of him walking with a crowd of people attempting to evacuate the shopping mall.

The video showed that the crowd was moving orderly with several of them wearing face masks. Someone who looked to be marshaling people out was heard shouting "Go, go, go. Stop dithering." The footage was slightly blurred, it is not clear if it was due to smoke or low-light conditions.
