The Singapore Police Force organised a road show last weekend at Woodlands Civic Centre. One of the highlights of the event was police officer and career advisor, INSP Estrina Ang.

In a bid to showcase the public-friendly countenance of this police officer to the masses, Chinese newspaper Lianhe Wanbao dedicated an entire article to her:

Here is the literal direct translation of the Lianhe Wanbao report on Dec. 20:

Female police flower "steals heart", netizens want to "report"

Recently, the Singapore Police Force rolled out a series of community activities hoping the public will get to know the police force better, and at the same time, attract more members of the public to join the police force.

To let this event "suck more eyeballs", the police force specially found a few pretty women police officers to appear, to close the gap between the police and the public.

This move showcased the "pretty women effect". After the photo of the pretty woman officer was uploaded online, many netizens pressed "Like".

Last Friday, the police force uploaded a 21-second short film showing female officer, Estrina Ang, at her office with her colleagues working.

Shortly after, she faced the camera and told netizens, if they wanted to understand their work more, they can go down to the police force's community events.

A humorous netizen left the following comment: "I want to report this officer for stealing. She stole my heart."

Additionally, Senior Minister of State Josephine Teo had previously uploaded a photograph on Facebook, where she was at a police force community event at HDB hub, where she bumped into female police officer Victoria Hay.

Teo said: "You might find her familiar. She appeared in Our Guardians (it's a Home Affairs publicity video), and also appears in a promotional poster that appears around the island where she protects the vulnerable."

Some netizens expressed: "Perhaps female officers can better communicate with people, especially when the female officer can tell that the victim is feeling uncomfortable when divulging some details".

Some others also praised them as "heroines that protect the nation".
