Irish rock band U2 are rumoured to be on their way to Singapore as well.

This is following news that Coldplay will be playing in Singapore on April 1, 2017.

In an article by The Straits Times about Sports Hub on Nov. 12, it was written that U2 are currently in talks to perform at the national stadium venue.

That same article had also stated that Coldplay were also in talks to perform at the Sports Hub, which appeared before the band's Nov. 14 announcement of their Asian shows. This information later materialised and turned out to be true.

U2's rumoured date with Singapore is corroborated by another piece of news in The Irish Times.

It was reported that the band plans to perform in Asia next year in support of Songs Of Experience, the as-of-yet unreleased companion album to 2014's Songs Of Innocence.

If confirmed, this would mark U2's very first performance in Singapore in their 40-year career.
