A Singaporean woman possibly prevented the outbreak of World World III in Charles de Gaulle airport.

This was after citizens belonging to one superpower and another upcoming superpower were teetering on the verge of clashing over a misunderstanding, which could have sparked an international incident and the end of humankind as we know it, due to a nuclear holocaust.

The potentially planet-ending incident occurred after an American of African descent had overheard a group of mainland Chinese tourists saying "那个", while waiting in line to clear immigration at the French international airport.

The Chinese words, "那个", which can be pronounced as "na ge" or "nei ge", depending on accent and when spoken out loud in the mainland Chinese volume, bears an uncanny resemblance to "n*gger".

American lost it

The American was witnessed to have gone ballistic and the Chinese tourists retaliated because they did not know what led to his aggression, resulting in a shouting match.

The brave, quick-thinking, tolerant and multicultural Singaporean woman, Dillah Zakbah, stepped in to mediate and defuse tensions in a moment that would have made Kofi Annan proud and even shed a tear.

Recounting her experience on Facebook on Nov. 5, Dillah said she utilised her spoken English -- the first language of Singaporeans -- and shoddy Mandarin skills, which is not her mother tongue, to explain to the feuding factions the case for ceasefire.

She then followed up with remnants of French she happened to pick up to explain how the truce was negotiated.

For the uninitiated, all three countries, the US, China and France are sovereign states that possess nuclear weapons.
