Less than 24 hours into Trump's victory, stories of racism in the U.S. are pouring forth

As you would probably know, the United States has a new president: Donald John Trump.

From President-elect Trump's optimistic and inclusive victory speech yesterday (Nov. 10), some people expressed hope that he will sober up from his year-and-a-half-long election antics.

However, social media has shown us, quite harshly, that the first day post-election, and the first day of Trump being elected, reminds us of the first few days following the UK's Brexit vote.

New York Daily News writer Shaun King has taken to Twitter to post some of these stories, which we reproduce below:

Americans, voting Trump into the Oval Office is not a free pass for racism, bigotry, xenophobia or any other kind of abuse on other people or fellow Americans.
