Aung San Suu Kyi in S'pore from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, will eat hawker food with Vivian Balakrishnan

The last time she was here was in 2013 as an opposition leader.

Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi will be in Singapore for an official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

PM Lee will host an official welcome ceremony and a dinner for her at the Istana on Wednesday.

Suu Kyi and PM Lee will be guests-of-honour on Thursday at the Asian Civilisations Museum opening ceremony of a three-month exhibition of Myanmar artefacts, “Cities and Kings: Ancient Treasures from Myanmar".

Suu Kyi will also call on Acting President J Y Pillay as she is also foreign minister.

Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean will host her to meals separately.

She will also have breakfast at a hawker centre with Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.

During her three-day visit, Suu Kyi will get an orchid named in her honour at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

She will also be part of IE Singapore's Global Conversations dialogue with Singapore businesses.

Suu Kyi last visited Singapore in 2013 when she was Myanmar's opposition leader.
