8 gifs that accurately depict your life when it is overtaken by robots

A sneak peek into life with robots.

Robots are coming for you and you know it. Once confined to factories, doing repetitive assembly line work, robots have now invaded our working and living spaces. It's a lot to take in, but once they're firmly entrenched in your everyday life, we're betting it would look something like this:

1. When robots make you something edible at 3am in the morning.

Forget your midnight hunger pangs with 24-hour vending machine cafes (like this one in Sengkang). Supposedly costing up to 40% less than a normal human-run cafe, you can be sure these robot cafes will be popping faster than you can say 'makan'.

2. When the tray-return robot collects your empty tray without nagging you to faster eat and go.

No need to send back your own tray when robots (check out this cool video) are here to do it for you at this Koufu food court. Plus, they won't make noise at you. Perfect.

3. When you need to use your face to take the MRT.

It might not be long before your EZ-link card is replaced by something more personal - your face. It's so efficient that it processes commuters 50% faster than the traditional EZ-link method at the fare gate. Just remember to keep that smile on when you're caught in a breakdown.

4. When delivery drones bring you your new clothes.

Singpost is experimenting with the idea of using drones to deliver parcels. Not having manpower and fuel costs to account for means one thing - time to buy, buy, buy.

5. When your robot receptionist cannot understand your Singlish.

Unfortunately, your inability to code-switch won't help when you encounter this robot receptionist named Nadine. She smiles, maintains eye contact, and even shakes your hand - everything you want in a receptionist, except speak Singlish.

6. When your social companion robot can't accompany you to that CNY dinner at the CC.

Foreseeing the near future when you become an elderly folk living alone, Ruth would be the social robot whose companionship you so crave. Using advance vision sensors, this robot can read your expression and comfort you when you're sad. Like when you're wailing over the lonesome dinner.

7. When your robot bartender makes such damn good cocktails.

Spotted at the Bionic Bar on the Ovation of the Seas, these robot bartenders can produce two drinks per minute - all the better to get you drunk faster.

8. When your robot coach makes your body bend in ways you never knew possible.

This robocoach conducts fitness routines for the elderly. We are betting it wouldn't be long before it starts crossfit classes. Brace yourselves.

All hail our machine overlords:
