A fibre broadband service outage by StarHub on Saturday evening, Oct. 22, left plenty of customers on edge.

The outage started around 10pm, according to scores of complaints posted on social media.

The local telco only put up a notice on their Facebook page at 11pm, informing customers of the outage:

According to downdetector.sg, which tracks outages, Starhub saw a spike in reports from 10pm:

As a result, there have been numerous complaints from customers saying they had to rely on their mobile data to access the Internet.

In a Facebook post at 2am on Sunday, StarHub said they have since rectified a network equipment issue and are now closely monitoring the situation to ensure the service stabilises for their customers.

In August this year, the Pokémon Go app failed to work for trainers using Starhub mobile data, which also resulted in mass complaints.
