S'pore uncle makes a living selling eggs at 10 cents each, refuses to take a dollar more from customer

It is tough to make ends meet in Singapore sometimes, the cost of living isn't terribly low, and jobs, especially for the elderly, might be tough to come by.

One uncle who is trying his best to make it, though, is this man in Bukit Batok.

According to a Facebook post by Mariabella Tressa, the uncle is selling eggs at just 10 cents each at Bukit Batok.

And, if you are thinking of just donating some money, you might wish to reconsider that approach, as Tressa revealed, the uncle would not even take a dollar more from her

The past

Turns out, the man was not always selling eggs out the back of a store.

According to a Facebook comment, he was actually selling magazines out the front of the store, but had to sublet instead due to increasing rent prices.

And, just in case you're worried that the man is selling out of his house, which is technically illegal, no worries, here is a screenshot of the man's Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority's (ACRA) business listing.

So not only is he doing everything by the book, he isn't looking for any handouts at all.
