As the world becomes increasingly globalised and real-time streaming of any event by anyone a reality when it was only a dream a mere decade ago, what would you do with so much power and attention at your disposal?

The special folks at Dose left a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 charging continuously for four hours straight in the hopes it will blow up live in real-time on Facebook before an international audience with too much free time.

This is, without any false equivalence, the same as watching paint dry -- with the small promise of fire and lots of smoke.

Not that it deterred the more than 30,000 live audience at any given time who tuned in for a piece of the almost action, where the device was apparently bought off Craigslist.

To date, Samsung has issued a global recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, even as airlines around the world have imposed an outright ban on the phone being carried on board or shipped by the carriers.

In Singapore, users of the Samsung Note 7 can choose a refund or switch to another flagship model such as Galaxy S7 Edge.

Oh, after four hours, the phone did not explode.
