Throughout the Joseph Schooling coverage throughout these past few days, one thing has been made abundantly clear.

Joseph Schooling is a very photogenic man.

Here he is mistaking the escalator for a professional photoshoot.

Here he is doing a spot on impersonation of a swimming, Eurasian version of Chow Yun-Fat in God of Gamblers.

And, here he is pretending that jet lag does not exist.

Point is, Schooling has rightfully been the center of attention in any photo he has been a part of these past 2 days.

Enter SIA

SIA has always taken pride in achieving the unachievable. No one thought an airline from a small tropical island could rise to become one of the best airline carriers in the world, but they did.

Now, they proved that just because you have Singapore's national hero with you, doesn't mean you automatically take a good photo.

This is the photo in question.

Negative backlash

The backlash was quick and overwhelming, with criticism falling into 2 camps.

1. Those that felt the spotlight was on the wrong person.

2. Those that didn't realise Schooling was there.

While the positioning was rather misguided, it is important to note that SIA did not actually upload this onto their page, it was CNA.

Improvements

Perhaps the best remedy for this faux pas was provided by Facebook group, Temasek Clothings, who 'corrected' the picture for them.

Much better.
