There was a time when safe Singapore was the country that issued travel warnings for Singaporeans against travelling to other countries.

But the joke is on us this week.

The United States, Australia, Taiwan and South Korea have already issued travel warnings for Singapore over the Zika virus.

This is after the confirmed cases of Zika virus here rose from one last Saturday to 82 so far. The majority of the 82 reported cases are foreign construction workers.

Below are the travel warnings issued:

Here is the latest statement on the current outbreak from the Ministry of Health (MOH) on August 31:

MOH and the Clinical Advisory Group (CAG) on Zika and Pregnancy advise all pregnant women in Singapore with symptoms of Zika (fever and rash and other symptoms such as red eyes or joint pain), as well as those (with or without symptoms) with male partners who are Zika-positive, to be tested for Zika virus infection. This is regardless of whether they have been to Zika-affected areas.
