In a separate Facebook update on July 11, SMDN reported that the Caucasian suspect was from North America and was arrested in Bangkok yesterday (July 10).

The robbery caught everyone by surprise, and the method which the robber used has also been a hot topic of conversation.

Here is how the robber purportedly carried out the operation.

1. Did his best to evade the police cameras.

2. Passed a note to the teller.

3. Made off with $30,000

4. Headed off in the direction of Chip Bee Gardens.

The reporting has been understandably messy, with some Chinese media claiming the robber is American, while others, including The Straits Times, have identified him as an Australian.

While there has been no confirmation by the police on whether the suspect has indeed been caught. It is important to note that SMDN has been by far, the quickest news publication in any updates on the case.

SMDN had earlier reported that the bank robber had snuck into Thailand.

The same publication was also one of the first to report of the Singapore Police Force's discovery of a Gatorade bottle which they attributed to the robber.
