Outrage over flags isn't just a Singapore thing.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is attending his very first state dinner in the White House in a few days time.

To prepare for that, America recently placed the Singapore flag in front of the White House.

A nice little gesture, right?

Not to some Americans, who felt slighted by the apparent emphasis placed on the Singapore flag.

It all started when conservative radio talk show host, Todd Huffman, tweeted out this picture.

With this statement accompanying the picture.

"Is this a proper display of the #American #flag? The flag in center is higher. And this is in front of White House."

Now, we checked multiple times, this is not a parody account.

The outrage came fast and furious. But only after confirming one important point.

And then the outrage.

With an initial echo chamber being set up.

Before the masses joined in.

Rational voices

There were some rational voices that gave alternate opinion.

But they were either converted.

Or probably couldn't be bothered.

Perspective

Now, we are of the persuasion that America hasn't ceded its position as world leader to Singapore just yet.

The Singapore flag seems higher because of the angle in which the photo was taken.

Or as someone on Reddit put it.
