Compass One in Sengkang will finally reopen in September 2016 on schedule after an 11-month shutdown for a major upgrade.

The mall with a new look will have more than 50 new retailers besides a larger library on two levels, more educational facilities, larger common areas and a children’s wet and dry playground.

Interest from retailers have so far seen 95 percent of the retail space being leased.

Tenants started moving in last month to fit out their retail space following the granting of the Temporary Occupation Permit.

New tenants include Challenger, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Owndays, Royal London Duck and Paradise Hotpot.

Long term tenants POSB, Starbucks, Pizza Hut and Popular, along with anchor tenants Cold Storage, Sengkang Public Library and Kopitiam are still around.

M&G Real Estate, the real estate fund management arm of M&G Investments, took full ownership of the 13-year-old mall in February 2016, having owned a majority stake since 2002.
