Singaporean man advocates violence against LGBT community in Facebook post

Shooting people is wrong.

[Update: Police and Lim's employer, Canon, are investigating his comments.]

Before a lone gunman had earlier today killed 50 people at a gay bar in Orlando, Florida, in what is the worst mass shooting case in US history, a Singaporean man had taken to Facebook to advocate violence against the LGBT community on June 4.

This is what the Singaporean man wrote:

I am a Singaporean citizen. I am a NSman. I am a father. And I swore to protect my nation.

Give me the permission to open fire. I would like to see these £@€$^*s die for their causes.

The man, Bryan Lim, left that comment on a post by We are against Pink Dot, an anti-Pink Dot Facebook group from Singapore, that called for an end to foreign intervention in Singapore politics, in the context of foreign sponsors in Pink Dot:

When other Facebook users confronted him about his remarks, Lim addressed it by emphasising the need for context, but without elaborating further.

In retaliation, Internet users snooped out Lim's current job.

And even his National Service vocation.

Earlier in 2013, Lim had openly boasted about his attitude towards a female same-sex couple he personally encountered in another Facebook post:

This was what Lim wrote:

Seeing two lesbians hugging and being all lovey-dovey in front of me.I'll be lying if I don't want part of the action.

So out of courtesy, I simply stood up straight, towered over both of them, breathed slowly and sensually over their faces and smiled sinisterly.

The hairs on their arm stood. They looked up, saw my intent and froze. I guess I killed the mood. Got to work on that.

Bryan Lim is currently trending on Twitter.
