Bryan Lim, the man who allegedly threatened to 'open fire' on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual community was charged on Thursday with communicating an incitement to violence.

According to Channel NewsAsia, Lim has had his desktop, laptop and phone seized, as police investigations continue.

Lim faces a jail term of up to five years, a fine, or both.

One group that has not taken the announcement all that well is the anti-Pink Dot Facebook group We Are Against Pink Dot (WAAPD).

Sympathy for Lim

Some felt bad for Lim's potential jail term, arguing that the charges were excessive and/or unnecessary.

One claimed that if Lim was charged, the LGBT community should be charged as well

And others, including Lawrence Khong's wife, Nina Khong, turned their ire on an individual named Leow Yangfa, who had made a speech during this year's Pink Dot event. In his speech, Leow had, according to a group member going by the name Carrie Shalom, allegedly called the pastor a "bully".

And apparently, a war has started.

It is with that comment that it will be good to remind all who sense 'war' in the air that nothing close to a judgement, much less sentence, has been passed against Lim yet.

His case will be mentioned again on August 4. Lim is currently out on $10,000 bail.
