Liverpool will face off against Bayern Munich and Leicester City at Singapore's National Stadium from end-July 2023.

A press release on the Liverpool FC website confirmed that the Merseyside club is returning to Singapore for their 2023 pre-season tour, as part of the Singapore Festival of Football.

Matches to be held on Jul. 30 and Aug. 2 at the National Stadium

Liverpool will first play against English Premier League side Leicester City, who is visiting Singapore for the first time, at the National Stadium on Jul. 30.

The Reds will defend the Standard Chartered Singapore trophy that they won against fellow Premier League team Crystal Palace last year.

Three days later on Aug. 2, they will take on 31-time German Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich at the same venue.

The winner of that match will take home the Singapore Trophy, presented by Audi and Standard Chartered Bank.

The squad's other engagements in Singapore

Fans of Liverpool FC can catch the squad in action during an open training session, which will be held at the National Stadium on Jul. 29.

The club will also participate actively in a number of key local community projects and cultural activities during their Singapore trip.

Liverpool 'excited' to be heading back to Singapore

Ben Latty, Liverpool FC commercial director, explained that the club is "tremendously excited" to return to Singapore after their pre-season tour last July.

On Jul. 15, 2022, more than 50,000 spectators watched the Reds beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at the National Stadium.

"In Singapore, almost a fifth of the population identify as Liverpool FC fans, which is amazing, and we can’t wait to meet them again," Latty added.

Singapore Festival of Football 2023, from Jul. 26 to Aug. 2

Patrick Lee, Cluster CEO at Standard Chartered, Liverpool FC's principal partner, added that they are looking forward to the top-level entertainment the team will bring to this year's Festival of Football, along with the other leading European clubs.

Liverpool, Bayern and Leicester will be joined by Premier League side Tottenham and Italian side Roma, who will kickstart the Festival with a clash on Jul. 26.

Apart from enjoying the matches, spectators can look forward to a wide range of family-friendly fun activities and dining options, according to the Sports Hub website.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held at the Football Fan Interactive Festival Village at the OCBC Square, from Jul. 26 to Aug. 2.

They will go on general sale on May 10, 2023, from 10am onwards on the Ticketek website.
